Since 2003, I have immersed myself in all things medical. The one thing that I always liked better than practicing respiratory therapy, nursing, or anesthesia was the classroom lecture. Sounds odd, huh? Well, my love of information gathering and sharing has defined my approach to life since I can remember. I’ve always enjoyed hunkering down with a new concept and looking at it from every angle. Even more than learning, I’ve often felt the call to become an educator.
I knew this was the case when school finally ended. Once my wife and I graduate from Penn and all the ceremonies were over with, I felt a sadness. Looking back now, I understand that I was mourning the loss of future possibilities. There was plenty of room to grow in my practice but I still lusted after the academic environment and the avenues it offered.
This is why my wife and I have partnered to bring you “Nurse Mastery”. We have found an outlet to reach nurses at every level and share what we have learned along the way. Armed with a little bit of knowledge and a whole lot of energy, we think that we can help students and new grads achieve whatever goals they have.
We are preparing to create many more posts, books, apps, and whatever else it is that we think can help the next nurse coming up the ranks. It is said that nurses eat their young but we want to change that perception with thoughtful guidance and tutoring for the next generation of nurses.
